About

Dan Myers created MVEC to use his knowledge of disability vehicles and the modification system to provide a service to the disability community.

Dan is a qualified and experienced professional engineer, with over 25 years’ experience working in the automotive sector.

Dan has a masters degree in automotive product engineering and worked in the UK automotive industry, developing vehicle air intake and exhaust systems and specialising in noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) engineering.

In New Zealand Dan has worked in government on vehicle policy and regulation, then spent 13 years at the Low Volume Vehicle Technical Association developing standards and providing technical advice.

It was while at the LVVTA that Dan developed his knowledge of vehicle modifications for mobility, seats and seatbelts.

Dan’s mission is to improve the process of adapting vehicles for people with disabilities by providing a range of services, including:

  • Assisting disabled people with vehicle, specification, modification and certification
  • Consulting to government agencies on disability vehicle modifications
  • Advising modification companies on disability adaptations
  • Providing a certification service for modified light vehicles.

Dan can also provide general advice on a range of vehicle modifications to meet LVV standards.
